The idea is really simple. I am a working mother who loves food more than anything. I have been cooking since I was old enough to hold a spatula. The women in my family have been notoriously good cooks and this is an attempt to digitally catalogue some of my favorites.

I guess you could call this a "blog". Although I don't consider myself a blogger at all. I'm just a southern girl who loves food. Speaking of southern, I grew up in Texas and so I have a huge bias to any recipe with "Texas" in the title. Growing up in Texas also means that I am a sucker for a new BBQ recipe. And in this life, if there is one thing I know, it is how to make a mean BBQ (blank). Feel free to let your mind fill in the blank with just about anything.

This site, Foodables, is my New Year's Resolution for 2007. I want other people to read my recipes! Even if nobody on the Interweb finds them, that is ok. At least I have a good easy-to-print record of all my dishes.

Oh and I almost forgot. Where did "Foodables" come from? Well one day my husband called me "so foodable". We didn't really know what it meant, but it kinda stuck. And eventually it turned into "Foodables" as a nickname (but only when I'm cooking...thank goodness!).
